Echte E-Gitarre, Live-Elektronik und Film fährt Anla Courtis, die treibende Kraft der argentinischen Untergrundszene, bei mex auf. Jaulende und bellende Feedbacks, experimentelles Dröhn und abstract noise vermischen sich zu einer absoluten Bühnenpräsenz, bei der weder Besen noch Auszieh-Antennen vor wild-zärtlichem Zugriff sicher sind. Klänge werden nicht kontrolliert; sondern frei aufs Publikum losgelassen. Dazu gibt es Home Movies; Impressionen argentinischer Kollektiverinnerung der 70/80er-Jahre.
Eher aus der Zukunft kommt uns das selbstgebaute Instrument „oK (organloser Körper)“ von Yunchul Kim entgegen. Neun modifizierte Leserarme – von Computerfestplatten amputiert – erzeugen Eigengeräusche und Schwingungen, wenn sie durch Kontrollsignale und Magnetsteuerung bewegt werden. Im Geiste der Pataphysik werden medienkunstvoll wissenschaftliche Methoden und körperliche Funktionen parodiert. Das Publikum fiebert mit, wenn oK kränkelt oder Selbstheilungskräfte aktiviert. Beim Duo-Gig oK mit dem Berliner Digitalmusiker Jörg Lindenmaier versinnbildlichen Laptop, elektromagnetische und chemische Objekte ein imaginäres Organ. Und davon kann man ja bekanntermaßen nie zu viele haben.
Daniel Burkhardt wiederum analysiert, seziert und arrangiert mit seiner Technik der „Zeitauffaltung“ unaufgeregte und signifikante Videoaufnahmen allgemein zugänglicher Orte. Objekte wie Hochhäuser oder flitzende Autos verlieren so zusehends ihre Bodenhaftung und werden zu räumlich bewegtem Ornament. Aus linearer Zeit wird tiefengestaffelter Raum – hypnotisch und doch konzeptionell glasklar. Hut ab auch vor den Soundtracks; sie bringen das assoziative Potential und die abstrakt-realen Prozesse in Einklang und angenehm irritierend in die Schwebe …

Real e-guitar, live electronics and film are served up at mex by Anla Courtis, driving force of the Argentine underground scene. Howling and barking feedbacks, experimental drone and abstract noise mixes to an absolute stage presence, at which neither brooms nor telescopic antennas are safe from wild-tender grasp. Sounds are not controlled; but freely released to the public. In addition there are home movies; impressions of Argentine collective memory of the 70/80s.
Rather from the future the self-built instrument oK by Yunchul Kim arrives to meet us. Nine modified reader arms – amputated of computer hard disks – produce inherent noises and oscillations when they are moved by control signals and magnet gears. In the spirit of the pataphysic, academic methods and physical functions are parodied. The public is tensely excited, if oK is ailing or activating self healing energies. The duo-gig „oK (organless body)” with the Berlin-based-digital-musician Jörg Lindenmaier, laptop, electromagnetic and chemical objects emblematize an imaginary organ. And of those – as is known – one can never have too many.
Daniel Burkhardt in turn analyzes, dissects and arranges with his technology „of unfolding time“ non-agitated and significant video-takes of commonly accessible places. Objects such as skyscrapers or whizzing cars loose noticeably their road contact and become spatially moved ornamentation. Linear time turns to depth-staggering space – hypnotic and nevertheless conceptually crystal clear. Kudos also to the soundtracks; they accommodate the associative potential to the abstract-real processes and pleasantly muddling in abeyance…
