JaJaa! spielen zusammen seit Jaap’s Band Retirement Overdue im Jahr 2018. From a young age, Jasper Stadhouders has made his name as a virtuosic and adventurous guitarist. Nowadays he is touring internationally with lots of different groups. Jaap Blonk is unique as a vocalist, and with live electronics he has developed a similar flexibility as with his voice. He has performed on all continents.

Das Projekt RE:Reunion – NOW MY LIFE IS SWEET LIKE CINNAMON play chess ist eine Weiterführung und ein Variation von der Performance Reunion von John Cage, Lowell Cross und anderen aus dem Jahr 1968. Ein mit Sensoren modifiziertes Schachbrett und sechs Elektronik-Musiker und Schachenthusiasten, verbunden durch ihre Züge. Im Laufe des Spieles, bestimmen die Postition aller Figuren den Weg, den der Sound einschlägt und geben den Musikern Gelegenheit zur Modulation und Manipulation. Das Instrumentarium des Ensembles erstreckt sich von selbst gebauten elektronischen Sound Maschinen, über Computer-basierten digitaler Klangsynthese, E-Gitarre bis hin zu elektrischen Spielzeugen. Zu dem Projekt gehören Moritz Wesp, Eric Haupt, Florian Zwissler, Christian Lorenzen, Pedro Ramirez, Marcus Zilz und RE:Reunion ist gefördert durch das Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.

The project RE:Reunion – NOW MY LIFE IS SWEET LIKE CINNAMON play chess is a continuation and variation of Reunion, a 1968 performance by John Cage, Lowell Cross and others. A sensor-modified chess board and six electronic musicians and chess enthusiasts, connected through the moves they play. As the game unfolds, the position of the pieces determine the paths that the musicians‘ sound is traveling, giving them the opportunity to modulate and manipulate each other. The ensemble’s instruments range from self-built analogue-electronic sound machines to computer-based digital sound synthesis, electric guitars and electronic toy instruments. Featured are Moritz Wesp, Eric Haupt, Florian Zwissler, Christian Lorenzen, Pedro Ramirez, Marcus Zilz and RE:Reunion is funded by the Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.
