Anfang der 70er Jahre begann Limpe Fuchs<\/strong> eigene Instrumente aus Holz, Metall oder Stein zu entwickeln und blies den Bundesb\u00fcrger\/Innen nackt und schwarz angemalt den Marsch. Sie gr\u00fcndete die Gruppe Anima und wurde zur Grande Dame der freien Improvisation. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Label Ana Ott<\/strong> ver\u00f6ffentlichen die Festival-Macher von Shiny Toys<\/strong> die limitierte LP „String Tone Weight“. Sie enth\u00e4lt einen Mitschnitt des Konzerts beim Shiny Toys Festival 2016, aufgenommen im Ringlokschuppen Ruhr. Die Ver\u00f6ffentlichung feiern wir im mex-Keller mit ihrem Konzert!

Gamut Inc.<\/strong> ist ein Ensemble f\u00fcr computergesteuerte Musikmaschinen, gegr\u00fcndet 2011 von der Musikerin Marion W\u00f6rle<\/strong> und dem Komponisten Maciej Sledzieki.<\/strong> Das Ensemble besteht aus einer wachsenden Anzahl selbstspielender, eigens f\u00fcr Gamut Inc. entwickelter akustischer Musikmaschinen, die live von Computern gesteuert werden und die Interaktion zwischen elektronischer und instrumentaler Musik erforschen. Ihr Fokus liegt in sonoren Texturen, wozu sie spezielle Software als Steuerung f\u00fcr die Konzerte entwickelt haben.

Dave Adry<\/strong> a\/k\/a DJ Tape Jockey<\/strong>, der unnachahmliche und ausschliesslich analog arbeitende Kassetten-DJ aus Enschede in den Niederlanden performed mit mehreren alten transportablen Kassettenrekordern und bastelt Kollagen aus vielen Schichten von Tonnen an vorproduzierten Kassetten, die zum Teil stark verzerrt sind…

Limpe Fuchs<\/strong> began to build her own instruments from wood, metal or stones in the early 70ies. She went on stage naked and with black painted skin to shock her audiences. Forming the group Anima she became the Grande Dame of free improvisation. In cooperation with the Label Ana Ott<\/strong>, Festival makers Shiny Toys<\/strong> release now the limited LP „String Tone Weight“, containing a live concert of her at the Shiny Toys Festival 2016. We will celebrate this release with a concert of hers at the mex-cellar!

Gamut Inc.<\/strong> was founded by Marion W\u00f6rle<\/strong> and Maciej Sledzieki<\/strong> to explore the interaction of electronic and instrumental music. The interdisciplinary ensemble consists of a growing number of autonomous music robots, which are controlled from computer. Their focus lies in sonic textures – for that purpose they developed specialized software to control these machines live. Further on they use different forms of live-generated music scores to enable different degrees of composition and live improvisation between the machines, electronic sounds and „real“ musicians.

Dave Adry<\/strong> a\/k\/a DJ Tape Jockey<\/strong>, the inimitable and strictly analog cassette-DJ from Enschede, Netherlands, performs with several old portable tape recorders and builds collages of layers of tons of pre-produced cassettes, some heavily distorted.

Shiny Toys 2017 wird durch die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, dem Zentrum f\u00fcr Kunst und Technik Makroscope e.V. und mex \u2013 intermediale und experimentelle Musikprojekte e.V. in Dortmund realisiert. In Kooperation mit dem Kassetten- und Vinyllabel Ana Ott. Gef\u00f6rdert durch das Ministerium f\u00fcr Familie, Kinder, Jugend, Kultur und Sport des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen und den Kulturbetrieb M\u00fclheim an der Ruhr. Das Projekt \u201eanalog\/digital\u201c wird zus\u00e4tzlich gef\u00f6rdert durch das NRW Kultursekretariat Wuppertal.<\/p>\n
