Im Zentrum von RE:Reunion <\/strong>steht ein mit Sensoren und Elektronik modifiziertes Schachbrett. Sechs Musiker*innen und Schach-Fans spielen schnelles Blitzschach und improvisierte Musik. Basierend auf der Position der Schachfiguren erzeugt das Schachbrett ein komplexes System aus sich ver\u00e4ndernden Audiosignal-Verbindungen, das es den Musiker*innen erm\u00f6glicht, sich gegenseitig zu modulieren und zu manipulieren. Ein Schachzug kann somit au\u00dferordentlich gut klingen, und ein Klang kann die Schachspieler*innen aus ihrer tiefen Konzentration rei\u00dfen. Das eingespeiste Instrumentarium umfasst selbstgebaute analoge und digitale Synthesizer, modulare Systeme, Sprache, Sampler, Lapsteel-Gitarren, E-Geigen und vieles mehr. RE:Reunion ist eine Weiterf\u00fchrung und Variation von Reunion<\/a><\/em>, einer Performance von John Cage<\/em><\/strong>, Lowell Cross und anderen aus dem Jahr 1968, die das Original als grobe technische Vorlage nimmt und neue \u00e4sthetische Fragen verhandelt. Zu der Besetzung des Projektes<\/a> geh\u00f6ren Moritz Wesp, Eric Haupt, Christian Lorenzen, Marcus Zilz, Victor Gelling und Pablo Giw<\/strong>. RE:Reunion ist gef\u00f6rdert durch das Ministerium f\u00fcr Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen.

At the center of RE:Reunion<\/strong> is a chessboard modified with sensors and electronics. Six musicians and chess fans play fast blitz chess and improvised music. Based on the position of the chess pieces, the chessboard creates a complex system of changing audio signal connections that allows musicians to modulate and manipulate each other. A move can thus sound extraordinarily good, and a sound can tear chess players out of their deep concentration. The instrumentation included includes home-made analog and digital synthesizers, modular systems, speech, samplers, lap steel guitars, electric violins, and more. RE:Reunion is a continuation and variation of Reunion<\/a><\/em>, a 1968 performance by John Cage<\/em><\/strong>, Lowell Cross and others, which takes the original as a rough technical template and negotiates new aesthetic questions. The cast of the project<\/a> includes Moritz Wesp, Eric Haupt, Christian Lorenzen, Marcus Zilz, Victor Gelling and Pablo Giw.<\/strong> RE:Reunion is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
